And the winner is…

Congratulations to Anais Babington from Nicholas Chamberlaine School whose artwork has formed the backdrop for this year’s GAF poster.

Each year Griffin pupils are invited to take part in our Visual Arts Competition by completing a piece of art inspired by the GAF theme. The theme this year is, ‘Festival: Our celebration of Celebration.

With over 50 inspiring entires the judges had a challenging task in selecting the final piece.

Anais is a pupil in year 9 at Nicholas Chamberlaine School.  She really enjoys art and has decided to take Art as part of her GSCE studies next year. On her artwork she says:

“In this painting, my main aim was to capture the bright colours typically used in festivals and present them using ideas from wildlife and nature. My main inspiration was the street art celebrated in South American festivals. I love the decorative masks and flowers, and so I included them in my painting. I’m proud to be seeing my artwork on a poster for GAF!”

A huge well done to Anais and a thank you to all the pupils who took part in this competition. The runner up and shortlisted artworks will go online during the GAF week, so be sure to come back and look through our gallery.
